Kids Brain Health Network (KBHN) is a Canadian research network specialized in the well-being of kids of neurodevelopmental disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.
I conceptualize and wrote an interactive annual report to emphasize one their special strengths: implementing research, also known as research translation. The scientific advancements they support don’t just stay on paper but instead make a tangible difference for children and their families.
In collaboration with a graphic designer and a web programmer, I used interactivity and visual communication to conceptualize a digestible overview of KBHN’s scope and the year’s accomplishments.
Describing technical projects in generally accessible language was a top priority because the report’s target audiences included non-scientists.
Given that the network was actively searching for new sources of financial support, it was important to communicate clearly and passionately about its mission and vision, as well.
